Obituary
CLIFFORD F. LEIGHTON Clifford Fisher Leighton, known as Jim Leighton by all his friends, the husband of Florence (Browne) Leighton of Dexter, died suddenly Oct. 16 at his home. He was born in Garland, Me., Aug. 19, 1909, the son of the late James L. and Rhoda (Adams) Leighton. Mr. Leighton graduated from N. H. Fay High School in 1927 and attended Mass. Institute of Technology. He worked 23 years for the Fayscott - Landis Machine Corp., retiring in 1957, due to ill health. He was a communicant of the Church of The Messiah Episcopal. Surviving besides his wife are two sisters, Mrs. Rhoena Barker of Saxonville, Mass., and Mrs. Elvina Kempton, of San Francisco, Calif., 2 aunts, and several nieces nephews and cousins. Requiem Euchrist will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Church of the Messiah Episcopal of Dexter located in Silvers Mills. Celebrant will be Samuel H. Hartman, priest in charge, assisted by the Rev. Gordon Reynolds, vicar. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Mrs. Frances Marsh for the Episcopal Church Building Fund, or Mrs. Margaret Pooler for the Children's Fund of the Sunshine Club. Visiting hours will be Thursday and Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Crosby-Neal Funeral Home in Dexter. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
