THEODORE HASELTINE Theodore Haseltine, 85, of Dexter died Oct. 3 at a local hospital after a long illness. He was born Sept. 7, 1888, the son of Leonard and Mary Shaw Haseltine. Haseltine entered the employ of Central Maine Power Co. as a wireman in 1915. In 1922 he was promoted to local manager of the C.M.P. office in Dexter in which capacity he served until 1957 making a total of 42 years with the company. After his retirement in 1957 he worked part time for the H.L. Tillson Co. Haseltine was a valued member of the First Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was a deacon of the church as well as its oldest member. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School for 40 years and was a member of the choir most of his life. Survivors include his widow, Geneva Small Haseltine of Dexter; one son, Richard, of Orrington; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Parker and Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Tillson, both of Dexter, Mrs. John (Marguerite) Lane of Newport; one half-brother, Clyde Haseltine, one half-sister, Mrs. Blanche Johnston, both of Millinocket; 13 grandchildren Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday aat the First Baptist Church in Dexter, the Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
