ALVAH CHAMBERS Alvah Chambers, 58, of Dexter died, Saturday, Oct. 6 as the result of an automobile accident. Born Sept. 24, 1915 in Corinna, he was the son of James and Linnie (Badger) Chambers. He was an active farmer, delivered milk for several years and at the time of the accident was employed by Guilford Industries. Survivors include his widow, Bernice Wintle Chambers of Dexter; three sons, Gary Chambers of Dexter, William of Detroit and David of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Smith of Gorham; three brothers, Alma and Ivan Chambers, both of St. Albans and Carl of Etna; three sisters, Mrs. Mark (Linda) Spencer of Winter Haven, Fla, Mrs. Edward (Barbara) McDougal of Bangor and Mrs. Roland (Maxine) Stewart of Newport; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Crosby-Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
