Obituary	HANFORD D. CROUSE Hanford D. Crouse, 76, of Dexter died unexpectedly at his residence Monday. He was former member of the Dexter board of selectmen. Mr. Crouse was born in Crouseville Nov. 5, 1896, son of Elbridge and Adaline (Bugbee) Crouse and was educated in Washborn schools. He was married to Carrie M. Carter in 1917 and they moved to Dexter in 1920. He was a farmer for 43 years and for 16 years a selectman. Mr. Crouse was a member of the First Baptist Church, a former member of the Pilgrim Lodge, IOOF, and the Penobscot Masonic Lodge. He was active in soil conservation work and was a 4-H club lecturer. Surviving are his widow, a son Keith Crouse, Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Abby Ballard, St. Albans and Mrs. Florence Duncan, Wiscasset; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral sevices were held Wednesday at the First Baptist Church Free st., the Rev. John Dunn offficiating.
