Obituary	HOWARD L. KENNEDY, JR. Howard L. Kennedy, Jr., 26 of Stetson, died Friday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Everett, Mass., the son of Howard L. and Marion Leach Kennedy Sr. He was employed by the Food and Drug Association of the State of Maryland and also was a student at the University of Maryland. He served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and was a member of the Stetson Union Church. He was also a member of the Shirley Carter VFW Post of Dexter. He is survived by his former wife, Mary Jane Kennedy of Dexter; one son, Roy Kennedy of Dexter; his mother Marion Kennedy of Stetson; two brothers, John Kennedy of Stratham, Ga., and Michael Kennedy of Stetson; two sisters, Mrs. Marion DeGroff, W. Fargo, N.D., and Mrs. Linda Tibbetts of Stetson. Funeral services were held Monday at Stetson Union Church. Members of Shirley B. Carter Post and Auxiliary VFW of Dexter participated in a military service for Howard Kennedy Jr., Monday at the Stetson Cemetery. Through the kindness of Band Conductor Arthur Lagasse, Carl Smith of Exeter and Judy Clukey of Dexter, students at the High School, played taps at the graveside service.
