Obituary
BERNARD R. CLUKEY Bernard R. Clukey, 69, died Friday afternoon at a local hospital after a long illness. He was born in Dexter May 1, 1905, the son of Harry and Dora (Pooler) Clukey. He attended the Dexter schools. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He was employed by the woolen mill in Dexter for several years before working for Fay-Scott Landis Machine Corp. He retired in 1972. He was a former lightweight boxing Champion of Maine and the Maritime Provinces. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Maine Trotting Association. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise (Mossman) Clukey three sons, Richard of Dexter, Dean of Sangerville, and David of St. Albans; two brothers, Theodore CIukey of Thomaston and Clyde Clukey of Pittsfield; and five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
