HARRY AUGUSTUS EASTMAN Harry Augustus Eastman, 94, Norridgewock's oldest resident, died May 6 at a Skowhegan hospital. He was born in Dexter, Nov. 16, 1879, the son of Alvin and Agnes (Rollins) Eastman, who lived on Pleasant St. He had learned the sheet metal trade of Dana Crockett in Dexter prior to moving to Ontario, Cal., in 1902 where he lived until the spring of 1970. He located in southern California where he was self-employed as a citrus fruit and nut grower. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Chino Barracks, No. 799, and he was the holder of the Boston Post gold-headed cane of Norridgewock. He is survived by one brother Arthur W. Eastman; one sister Mrs. Margery E. Wilder, both of Norridgewock; five nephews, one niece. Funeral services were held last Thursday at the Nelson J. Smart Funeral Home, Waterville Hill Road, Norridgewock. Committal services were held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
