ERWIN P. CHANDLER Erwin P. Chandler, 73, of Dexter died Feb. 17 after a long illness. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft March 11, 1900, the son of Charles and Adella (Bennett) Chandler. Mr. Chandler attended Dexter High School, Northeastern and the University of Maine. He operated a vacation camp in Greenville for about 25 years and retired after some 36 years with the U.S. Post Office Department. He was a member of the Universalist Church, the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge, the Plymouth Lodge of Odd Fellows, a life member, of the South Sangerville Grange, a member of the Farm Bureau and the Boneka Club of the church. He is survived by his wife, Anna Edgecomb Chandler, Dexter; four sons, Charles J., Newport; Clayton and Marshall, Dexter; Hadley, Pittsfield; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dexter Universalist Church. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery this spring.
