Obituary	LeRoy Stanhope Leroy Stanhope, 72, died May 12 at his home here after a short illness. He was born in Lincoln, the son of Andrew and Carolyn Hurd Stanhope, and had lived in Dexter for the past 16 years. During the Spanish-American war he was a Marine on the battleship Iowa. Surviving him are his wife; a son, Andrew, overseas; two daughters, a Millett of Dexter and Lucy Dow of East Dover; two brothers, Anthony of Portland and Earl of Hartland; a sister, Nellie Bly of East Plainville, Conn. Funeral services were held at Crosby funeral parlor Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. Gordon Reardon officiating. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery. The bearers were A. D. Stanhope, Hollis Millett, Ralph Dow and Fred Spaulding.
