Obituary	A. Q. Thompson Dies - Dexter's Oldest Man Alexander (Sandy) Q. Thompson, 96, died April 25 at a Pittsfield nursing home following a short illness. He held the Sunshine Club gold-headed cane as the oldest male resident of Dexter. He was born Dec. 13, 1875, in Clarendon, N.B., the son of Daniel C. and Alice (Quinn) Thompson. He moved to Maine as a young boy and has been a textile worker in Dexter, Pittsfield and New Hampshire, before retiring 3 5 years ago. He had been a member of the Knights of Pythias. He was a 50-year member of Penobscot Masonic Lodge of Dexter. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dexter an honorary trustee and a dedicated worker. He is survived by a sister, Miss Margaret Thompson of Pittsfield. Funeral services will be at the Crosby-Neal Funeral Home, Dexter at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Norman C. Young officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral home Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
