Obituary
HAROLD D. SMALL Harold D. Small, 84, died suddenly Jan. 6 at his residence on Main st., Dexter. He was born in Dexter Aug. 28, 1887, the son of Samuel and Lillian (Maxfield) Small. He attended Dexter Schools and Burdett College, Boston. In 1912 he started to work at the grist mill which had been owned many years by the family, and he operated it until his retirement in 1958. He had served for many years as water commissioner. He was a 50-year member of Penobscot Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Universalist Church. He is survived by his wife Eleanora (Libby) Small; two daughters, Mrs. Clair (Helen) Wilkins, Dexter; Mrs. Evelyn Korbly, Boston, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Gladys Stevenson, Bangor; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Crosby-Neal Funeral Home, Dexter Saturday with the Rev. Robert Sterling officiating. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Friday. Spring burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
