Obituary
OTTO M. MESSNER Otto M. Messner, 74, died early Saturday at a Waterbury Connecticut hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Union City, Dec. 21, 1896, son of the late Michael and Margaret (Binder) Messner. He was a member of the Naugatuck Congregational Church and a member of the Woodmen of the World Insurance Scoeity. He was a retired foreman of the Waterbury Farrel Foundry Co. He was a contract inspector at Fay & Scott Machine Shop during the war years. Besides his widow, Dorothea (Nissen) Messner, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Richards of Dexter and Mrs. Richard West of Wolcott, Conn.; three sons, Donald of Pittsburgh, Pa., William of Southington, Conn. and Richard of Naugatuck; three brothers, Martin of Florida, and Charles and Robert of Naugatuck, Conn.; two great-grandchildren; 10 grandchildren and several neices and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at the Buckmiller Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Fisher of the Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in Grove Cemetery. Bearers at the funeral were Richard West, Ronald Rogers, Daniel Edes, Lawrence Richards, Robert Richards, Dennis Richards.
