Obituary
William N. Frye William N. Frye of Dexter passed away Tuesday, April 17 at the Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor where he had been since a fall March 11. He was born February 1, 1873 in Wellington, Maine, the son of Franklin and Judith Staples Frye. He graduated from Dexter High School in the class of 1898 and attended Higgins Classical Institute and the University of Maine Law School in Bangor. In his youth he taught school in Wellington. Ill health prevented his taking up his career in law but he maintained to the last a deep interest in community and civic affairs. Since his high school days he has resided in Dexter and his farm home overlooking Lake Wassookeag, one of the most beautiful spots in Maine. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Martha Frye, are a sister, Mrs. Sophia L. Currier of Bangor, a brother John Frye of Guilford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the first Baptist church where he had been an attendant, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Branson Crispins of Lewiston will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery and the bearers will be Charles Chandler, Eugene Swanton, Hugh Hutchins, and Linwood Mower.
