Obituary	I. WILLIAM HIGGINS I. William Higgins, 89, died Oct. 26 at a Machias hospital following a brief illness. He was born at West Eden on July 19, 1882, the son of Orrison and Annette (Allen) Higgins. He lived in Dexter for many years and was employed for several years at Aberthau Construction Company of Boston. He retired from Fay and Scott of Dexter in 1944. He was a member and past master of Penobscot Lodge, AF & AM and St. John's Chapter, both of Dexter. His first wife, Agnes (Patterson) Higgins, died in 1936. On Nov. 11, 1944, he married Rebecca Hall of East Machias who survives him. He is also survived by a daughter, Mr. Roger (Virginia) Barra of Portland; two granddaughters, Miss Laurel Barra of Boston and Miss Melinda Barra of Portland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at the Gardner Funeral Chapel in Machias with the Rev. Douglass Densmore, officiating. Burial was in the Hall Private Cemetery at Halls Mills.
