Obituary	Sgt. EUGENE A. MOSLEY DIES IN SERVICE According to word from the War Department Sgt. Eugene A. Mosley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mosley of Dexter, died in France the first of March from wounds received in action in Germany. Sgt. Mosley entered the service June 27, 1944 and shipped overseas December 10. The first battle in which he participated took place on his birthday, February 17. The last letter received from him was written February 26. Eugene Albert Mosley was born on the Corinna side of the Ridge Road February 17, 1922, the son of John and Marjorie Farr Mosley. When he was about three year of age, the family moved across the road into Dexter and later into the village. He attended the Dexter schools graduating from N. H. Fay High school in the Class of 1941. The following December 21, he was united in marriage to Pauline Averill of Dover-Foxcroft. For nearly three years he was employed at Fay and Scott's where learned the machinist's trade. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are his wife and five months old daughter, Patricia Sharon; his parents; four sisters, Arlene Mosley of Washington, D. C., Ruth, Marilyn and Janet, at home; a brother Philip, serving with the Marines in California; a grandmother, Mrs. A. L. Farr; also four aunts and an uncle. 0ne Of Dexter's Honored War Dead Comes Home To Rest Guard Of Veterans To Form Pvt. E. A. Mosley's Last Escort On Saturday A military funeral service will be conducted Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at the First Baptist Church of Dexter, for Pvt. Eugene A. Mosley, whose remains will arrive in Newport on Saturday. A military escort composed of Commander Dustin Farnham, Adj. C. F. Haines and Ancil LaPointe, all of Shirley B. Carter Post, V. F. W., together with representatives from the Poulliot-Seavey Post, A. L., will accompany the remains from Newport to the Crosby funeral parlor where it will rest until the church service on Monday. The Rev. Ondon Stairs, pastor of the Baptist Church at Gardiner, and chaplain at the Veterans' Hospital at Togus, who is a former pastor of the First Baptist Church in this town, will officiate at the service, assisted by the Rev. Morley Durost, the present pastor. The bearers will be four cousins, Bernal Clark of Oakfield, Carroll Clark of Calais, Lewis and Walter Gilman, both of Hartford, Conn., and two close friends, Emery Hibberd and Rodney Michaud, both of Dover-Foxcroft. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
