Obituary
ANSON C. DORR Anson C. Dorr, 82, died June 2 at a Dexter hospital following a long illness. He was born at Bar Harbor Feb. 11, 1888, the son of Sewall and Drucilla (Salisbury) Dorr. At the age of 14 he enlisted in the Army and participated in the Mexican border dispute. During World War I he served with the Army in France. He was a member of the Maine State Police for several years where he held the rank of sergeant and belonged to Penobscot Masonic Lodge of Dexter. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Janice M. Slater of Dexter and Mrs. Joyce M. Sopkins of Westport, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William D. Tuttle, Wayland, Mass.; two grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. to-day (Thursday) at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, with Vicar Gordon A. Reynolds of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah of Dexter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Dexter.
