Amos C. Lord Funeral services for Amos C. Lord, who died suddenly, March 1st at his home in Ripley, were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday at the home, by the Rev. Gordon C. Reardon, of the Dexter First Universalist church. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the spring. Bearers were Maurice Nutter, Harold Nutter and Albert Folsom. Amos C. Lord was born June 22, 1875 in Massachusetts, the son of Clarence and Flora Lord. When a young man he moved to Dexter and has since resided in Dexter or Ripley. Fifty years ago next May 4th he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Lougee of Exeter, who survives him. He was well known and highly respected in this community where he at various times worked as moulder at Fay and Scott's, and carpenter, besides carrying on his own farm. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Clifton Skillins of Ripley, and Mrs. John Langdon Cook, of Ithaca, N. Y.; a son Clarence Lord of Dexter; eight grandchildren, Clarence Skillings, Pauline, Maxine, Barbara, Bernard and Francis Lord, Nancy and Dennis Cook; an aunt, Mrs. Ernest Hall of Littleton Common, Mass.; a. niece, Mrs. Flora Brooks and a nephew, Damon Hall of Massachusetts. Among those from a distance attending the funeral services were Mrs. William Perry, Mrs. George Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Coffin of Carmel, and Mrs. Cook of Ithaca, N. Y.
