Obituary	VERNON H. JEWELL Vernon H. Jewell, 86, died last Wednesday at a local nursing home. He was born at Shirley, March 25, 1883, the son of Edwin and Alice (Hobbs) Jewell. He had spent his entire adult life in Dexter, and had been a member of the Dexter Grange for over 50 years. He was a former master of the Grange, and belonged to East Somerset Pomona and the State Grange, and was an honorary member of the National Grange. He also belonged to the United Methodist Church and the Golden Age Club, and was an active member of the Republican Town Committee. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hildred Lawrence of Dexter. Funeral services were held at Crosby Funeral Home Saturday with the Rev. Norman C. Young of the United Methodist Church officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
