Obituary	Rites Held For Chas. F. D. Marsh Charles F.D. Marsh, 90, who had served as a deputy sheriff for 34 years, died early Monday morning in a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born in Exeter Aug. 19, l879, the son of Charles S. and Isabel (Trefethen) Marsh. He attended Newport and Dexter schools, Emerson College in Massachusetts and the University of Maine. Marsh was a graduate of the Boston Law School and worked as an attorney in Boston for several years. Active in town affairs, Marsh retired from the local police force in 1962, having served for 39 years. He was also Dexter health officer for 32 years, school attendance officer for 21 years, and served in several other offices. Marsh was well-known in the Dexter area as a collector of animal skeletons, and as a carver of wooden ox heads. He was a 50-year member of the Exeter Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Edna Marsh of Dover-Foxcroft; two sons J. Frederick Marsh of Corinna and Kenneth Marsh of Dexter; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Smith and Mrs. Hildon (Dorothy) Brawn both of Dexter and Mrs. Elton (Isabel) True of Methuen, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several cousins. Funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, Wednesday with the Rev. Philip Q. Mather officiating. Spring burial will be in the Crowell Cemetery in Exeter.
