HUGH HUTCHINS Hugh C. Hutchins, 66, died early Tuesday morning at a Dexter Hospital. He was born in Dexter, May 17, 1903, the son of Harry and Edith (Larrabee) Hutchins. A life-long resident of the Dexter Ripley area, he worked for many years as a farmer and has been about a year ago. Since that time, he had been assisting his son, Rodney, on the latter's Ripley farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, Penobscot Masonic Lodge, Wassookeag Chapter #44 O.E.S. and was a past high priest of St. John's Chapter, Royal Arch Masons and Dexter Grange. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amber (Seavey) Hutchins; a son, Rodney, of Ripley; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Miriam) Brooks of Dexter; 11 grandchildren four great-grandchildren and several cousins and one niece. Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dexter employed in the Fay Scott Shop and in local mills. More, recently he was employed at a Hartland tannery, until his retirement with the Rev. Philip Q. Mather officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
