Obituary	MRS. CAROLYN D. GOWDY Mrs. Carolyn (Daggett) Gowdy, 68, died Friday at a local hospital. She was born in Dexter March 20, 1901, the daughter of Nathan and Idella (True) Daggett. She spent most of her life in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School in 1920 and from Simmons College in Massachusetts in 1924. She taught for a short time at Dexter High School, had been employed by the Internal Revenue in Augusta and in an office at the University of Maine. She also has been employed by the Dexter Gazette, and had worked in Dover, Maine and Massachusetts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dexter and the WSCS of that Church, of the Dexter Womans Club, the Sunshine Club and the Plummer Memorial Hospital Association. She was assistant treasurer of the Dexter High School Alumni Association. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Madelyn Haskell, of Dexter; three nieces; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
