Obituary
Theodore W. Smith Funeral services for Theodore W. Smith, 83, were held at the Hewin's funeral home in Hallowell Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Gordon Washburn of the Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in the Crocker cemetery in St. Albans in the Spring. Attending the services from Dexter were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Goulette, Miss Nina Goulette and Mrs. Florence Leighton; also Miss Berniece Bowdoin of St. Albans, and Sgt. Harlan Breed of Corinna. Mr. Smith was born in Smithfield March 31, 1862, the son of Theodore and Susan Charles Smith and was a resident of St. Albans for more than seventy years where he was a well known and highly respected farmer. He was united in marriage in early life to Miss Nina Ross, who died many years ago. His second marriage was to Mrs. Hattie Sturtevant, who passed away several years ago. Mr. Smith died in an Augusta hospital February 17 after having been in failing health the past two years. He was a Golden Sheaf member of Dexter Grange, P. of H. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Goulette of Dexter; a son, Forrest G. Smith of Hallowell; two granddaughters, Miss Nina Goulette of Dexter and Mrs. Elaine LaPierre Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one great grandson, Lawrence LaPierre Colorado Springs.
