JAMES B. GILDERSLEEVE James B. Gildersleeve, 68, died late Friday night at a local hospital following a long illness. He was born in Cap McKenny, Washington, on April 10, 1901, the son of Ulysses and Mary Beaton Gildersleeve. He moved to Dexter about 30 years ago, moving from Detroit, Mich. He was employed at Fay-Scott Machine Corp., here for 26 years before retiring because of ill health. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Olivia Gildersleeve of Dexter; a son, Richard Gildersleeve of Windsor Locks, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Jean) Beaupre of Eastport and Mrs. Mary Roehl of Toledo, Ohio; a brother, George Gildersleeve of Halifax, N. S.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9 a. m. from St. Anne's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Stephen Mulkern officiated. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
