ARDEL W. HOWARD Ardal "Pud" Howard, 47, died Saturday in a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., April 20, 1921, the son of F. Weston and June (Turner) Howard. He was a past master of the Dexter Masonic Lodge and a high priest of St. John's Royal Arch Masons of Dexter; he was past master of the Central Council of Dover-Foxcroft; past master of the De-Molay Commandery; also a member of the advisory board of the Dexter Rainbow Assembly and the Sebasticook Valley Golf Club. He had been employed by the Fayscott Landis Machine Corp. in Dexter since 1942. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beatrice Howard of Dexter; his father of Canton and his stepmother Ethelyn Howard of Canton; two brothers, Robert of Bellingham, Wash., and Alan of the U. S. Air Force in Homestead AFB, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Cunningham of Somerville, Mass.; his grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Packard of St. Petersburg, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Masonic funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, Tuesday with the Rev. John FJ McNally Jr. officiating.
