MRS. HELEN M. JACOBS Mrs. Helen M. Jacobs, 74, died early Thursday morning at a local hospital following a long illness. She was born in Hingham, Mass. on Oct. 20, 1893, the daughter of Stetson and Alice Whiton Foster. She attended Hingham schools and was graduated from Simmons College in Massachusetts. She was co-founder of the Hingham Woman's Club and active in the Hingham Unitarian Church. She was a member of the First Universalist Church, Dexter and the Ladies Aid of that church. She was also a member of the Dexter Woman's Literary Club. She had made her home in Bethel about seven years, before coming to Dexter two years ago to make her home with her son, Stephen Jacobs. She is survived by another son Foster Jacobs of Princeton, N. J.; one sister, Miss Frances Foster of Taunton, Mass.; one brother, Lewis W. Foster of Hudson, Ohio; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the George H. Downing Funeral Home in Hingham, Mass. Saturday with the Rev. Donald Robinson of the South Paris Church officiating. Burial was in Old Ship Cemetery in Hingham. A brief Memorial service was held at the morning worship Sunday at the Universalist Church, Dexter. Friends may make donations to the American Cancer Fund.
