Military Rites for Dexter's First Vietnam Casualty Funeral mass was held at St. Anne's Catholic Church Monday morning for First Sgt. Malcolm C. Dulac, 36, Dexter's first Vietnam casualty, the Rev. Fr. Lucien Mandeville officiating. Sgt. Dulac, who was killed on May 5, had served 19 years in the Army, seven months of a current tour in Vietnam. He was First Sgt. of Company A, 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry in Vietnam, and served in that capacity at Fort Hood, Texas in Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion 50th Infantry, 2nd Armored Division. He was a member of the VFW Post of Harker Heights, Texas and the second Armored Division Association. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Denise Dulac of Harker Heights; his parents, Maurice and Minnie (Gilbert) Dulac of Dexter; five sisters, Mrs. Shirley Roadfeldt of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Barbara Dunphy of Otis AFB, Mass., Mrs. Christine Haskins of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Jean Cunningham of Worcester, Mass., and Mrs. Janice Cooley of Dexter; two brothers, Stanford of Ripley and Arlan of Dexter. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
