Obituary
ALFRED CURRIER Alfred Currier, 67, died at a Pittsfield Hospital Sunday morning. He was born in Dexter on Oct. 8, 1900, the son of John and Sadie Clukey Currier. Educated there and in Sangerville he first worked in Sangerville woolen mills. He was married Alice Smart in 1918 and the couple moved to Parkman. They had lived in Exeter and Wellington until coming to Newport last year. Surviving are his widow; five sons, Daniel of Ludlow, Vt., Francis of Wellington, Clarence and Harold of Parkman and Gregory of Guilford; a daughter, Mrs. Luella Easler of Newport; 22 grandchildren; two half-brothers, Frank Gifford of Sangerville and George Gifford of Wallingford, Conn.; a half-sister, Mrs. Reilla Bigelow of Hallowell; several cousins, niece and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Farnham Funeral Home in Newport. The Rev. Gerald H. Scott of the Calvary Baptist Church officiated. Spring burial will be in Crowell Cemetery in Exeter.
