MRS. FRANK HOWARD Mrs. Emma Howard, 85, widow of Frank D. Howard, died late Tuesday afternoon at a Dexter hospital after a year of failing health. She was born in Newport July 18, 1882, the daughter of Albert and Abbie (Morse) Stuart. She was educated in Boston schools, attended a Boston business school and before her marriage in 1912 did secretarial work in the Boston area. They moved to Dexter in 1916. She was formerly active in the Congregational Church of Dexter and was a member of the Gleaners of that church. Since the church was discontinued, she had been attending the First Universalist and was an active member of the Ladies' Aid of that church. She was an honorary member of the Dexter Woman's Literary Club and was active in community nursing service for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louise Godreau of Dexter; one grandson, Michael Godreau of Fairfield; one great-granddaughter, one niece, several cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. John FJ McNally of the First Universalist Church officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral home today (Thurs.) from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p. m. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
