Obituary	Miss Alice Fletcher Copeland The death of Miss Alice Fletcher Copland, 90, occurred January 26 at the Sisters Hospital in Waterville where she had been a patient for a few days suffering from a fractured hip. Alice Copeland was the daughter of Martha ( Fletcher) Copeland and Samuel Copeland and was born January 8, 1855 in Bloomfield, now Skowhegan, Maine. At an early age she came to where she spent the remainder of her life and received her education in the public schools. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Dexter. Always interested in the history of the town and its early families, she devoted much time to genealogical research and through her efforts valuable records have been compiled and peserved. Surviving relatives are several cousins: Susie Mitchell of Newport, Willis Copeland of Everett, Mass., Bert Fletcher, Mrs. Kate Holbrook, and Mrs. Bessie Thomvson of Skowhegan, Mrs. Emeline Dickerson of Oldwick, N. J. and Mrs. Carrie Haggerty of California. Funeral services were conducted from the Crosby Funeral Parlor Sunday, January 28, the Rev. J. Kenneth Halliday of the First Baptist church officiating and burial will be in the lot in Elmwood cemetery.
