Obituary	KATHERINE SAWTELLE Mrs. Katherine (Westgate) Sawtelle, 62, died Friday morning at a Pittsfield hospital following a long illness. She was born at Jamaica Plains, Mass., April 29, 1905, the daughter of the late Guy F. and Edith (Hawkins) Westgate. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1924 and shortly after was married to Clifford Sawtelle, Sr. She was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a 40-year member of the Martha Rebekah Lodge of Dexter. She was secretary of the Dexter Grange for over 20 years, a charter member of the former Canton Dexter Auxiliary and was also a member of the ladies social club of the Ridge Road. She started the hot lunch program in the Corinna Center School, was a member of the Corinna School Board for nine years and was employed for several years by the Snowflake Canning Company in Corinna. Surviving are her husband, Clifford Sr.; two sons, Clifford Jr. of Corinna and Franklyn of Marlboro, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Dow of Corinna and Mrs. Janet Smith of Hermon; one sister, Mrs. Edith Eaton of Cochituate, Mass.; 12 grandchildren, several nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Dexter Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gordon Parlin officiating. Burial was in the Corinna Center Cemetery.
