Obituary
EMERSON McKENNEY Emerson L. McKenney, 75, died at a Togus hospital Monday. He was born in Lincoln, April 2, 1892, the son of Fred and Sarah (Wheelden) McKenney. He was educated in Lincoln schools, and worked in the Pinkham grocery store there for 10 years. He then came to Corinna to work with his brother, Walter, as a farmer. After serving in World War I, he worked in Moosehead Woolen Mill and the Eastland Woolen Mill. He was married to Margaret Simpson in 1920, and she died in 1922. He married Sylvia Cookson in 1936. He is a former member of the I.O.O.F., the Grange, and the American Legion all in Corinna. Besides his wife, he is survived, by two step-sons, Lloyd P. Cookson of Dexter and Sherman J. Cookson of Corinna; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Vida Hanson of Bath; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 p. m. The Rev. Edward Jaworski, officiating. Committal services will be held by the American Legion at the Nutter Cemetery, following the funeral services.
