Obituary
CLARENCE C. HAYNES Clarence C. Haynes, 78, husband of Gladys (Hathaway) Haynes died Wednesday at his home after a long illness. He was born Aug. 27, 1888 at Passadumkeag, the son of Luther and Emma (Bryant) Haynes. Previous to his retirement two years ago, he had served for 26 years as representative in the Dexter area of the W. T. Rawleigh Co. He had previously served as surveyor for the Eastern Manufacturing Co. and at various times had been employed in a similar capacity by the U. S. Government, Great Northern Paper Co. and in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia by the Oxford Paper Co. Active in Masonic circles, he was a member of Mystic Masonic Lodge in Hampden, St. John's Commandery in Bangor, Mt. Moriah Chapter and was a former member of Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor. He is survived by his wife, GIadys; three daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Thompson, Dexter; Mrs. Janice Ormon, New Gloucester; Mrs. Angevine Cousins, Bangor; one son, Luther, of Bangor; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Masonic services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the First Universalist Church with the Rev. John FJ McNally, Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the Crosby Funeral Home Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
