Obituary	JOSEPH E. LEIGHTON Funeral services for Joseph Earle Leighton, 66, a former Dexter resident, were held Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Providence, R. I. Mr. Leighton who died Saturday, at a Providence hospital was born at Cambridge, Me., April 1, 1900, the son of the late James L. and Rhoda (Adams) Leighton. He attended Dexter schools, leaving here in 1917 for Providence. He has been employed as an electrical engineer for the U. S. Government. Surviving are his wife, Jennie Hallam Leighton; three children, Mrs. Beverly Leighton Gumbley and Mrs. Lois Lancelotti of the Providence area and Richard F. who lives at home. There are nine grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Clifford F. Leighton, Dexter and two sisters, Mrs. Rhoena Barker, Saxonville, Mass. and Mrs. Elvira Kempton, San Francisco, Calif. Several aunts, cousins nieces and nephews.
