Obituary	LEON C. POIRIER A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday morning, Feb. 28 at St. Anne's Catholic Church for Leon (Leo) C. Poirier, 78, who died Friday at the Plummer Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. The Rev. Gaston Auger officiated. Spring burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. He was born at Cheticamp, Cape Breton, N.S., July 25, 1887, son of Charles and Matilda (Aucoin) Poirier. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church and a member of Cardinal Mercier Council Knights of Columbus and the Fish and Game Association. He came to Dexter from Bangor in 1916 and was employed at the Amos Abbott Mill for nearly 36 years. For 12 years he and his wife lived at Waltham, Mass., but returned to Dexter several years ago. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Julia Poirier of Dexter; one son Wilfred Perry of Danbury, Conn. and four grandchildren.
