PERLEY A. EDGECOMB Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12, at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter for Perley A. Edgecomib, 77, who died Thursday at the Plummer Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. Ralph Cole, pastor of the Silver's Mills Church and the Guilford Center Baptist Church, officiated. Interment this spring will be in Warman Cemetery, Dover Road, Dexter. He was born at Limestone, Nov. 15, 1888, son of James A. and Etta (Morris) Edgecomb. When he first came to Dexter about 52 years ago, he was employed in the local mills. For nine years he operated the Dexter Town Farm. He was chef in several sporting camps in central Maine, and operated the Idle Hour Restaurant at Dexter prior to retirement. Mr. Edgecomb had received 40 year pin from Penobscot Masonic Lodge of Dexter, and was a former member of Dexter Grange. He attended the Silver's Mills Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred Edgecomb of Dexter; a son, Owen B. of Shelton, Conn., a daughter, Mrs. Norman Hunt of Skowhegan,; a sister, Mrs. Erwin P. Chandler of Dexter; a brother, Byron A. Edgecomb of Limestone; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
