Obituary	MRS. BERTHA W. BRIGGS Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26, at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter for Mrs. Bertha W. Briggs, 74, widow of Maurice Briggs, who died Sunday morning at a local nursing home after a long illness. The Rev. Philip Mather of the First Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. She was born at Lebanon, May 11, 1891, daughter of the Rev. John and Laura (Rankin) Wiggin. Mrs. Briggs had spent all of her adult life at Dexter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dexter Grange and the Senior Extension Group. She is survived by a son, John, and a daughter, Mrs. Muriel Haley, both of Dexter; a brother, Ernest Wiggin of Boston; a sister, Mrs. Edith Carter of Topsham; seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
