MRS. ELZORA STONE DIES AT AGE OF 97 Dexter's oldest woman, Mrs. Elzora Stone, widow of the late Judge Arthur W. Stone, died at the age of 97 in her home on Beech st. following a long illness. Mrs. Stone was born at Corinna, March 22, 1868, daughter of John and Saloma (Shaw) Josselyn. She attended Corinna schools where she later taught for several years. She was the oldest living graduate of Corinna Union Academy, and until the last two years, attended all school reunions. On June 30, 1895, she married Judge Stone and they moved to Lowell, Mass., where he practised law. In 1902, they moved to Dexter where they established their permanent residence. She was the oldest member of the First Universalist Church of which she was a deaconess. She was also a member and past president of the Ladies' Aid. A member of Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge, she was the oldest Past Noble Grand of the lodge and a member of Faithful Link Past Noble Grands' Association. She also had received the decoration of Chivalry. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Veth Hope of Dexter; a granddaughter, Mrs. James Heeremans of Boxford, Mass.; and three great-grand-daughters. Funeral services will be held at the Beech Street home Saturday afternoon. Friends may call at anytime. Interment will be in Corinna Center Cemetery.
