VYLLA BRYANT Funeral services were held yesterday, Sept. 8, at the McGill Funeral Home in Dover, N.,H. for Vylla T. Bryant, 77, widow of 0scar E. Bryant who died Saturday at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital, Hanover, N. H. after a brief illness. She formerly lived in Dexter. Born in Portland, Sept. 25, 1888, the daughter of John and Eliza (Purdy) Thorndike, she had lived in Dexter for many years before going to Dover 28 years ago. She was a member of the First Parish church, Congregational and the Women's Union of the church, a member of Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge of Dexter; a member and secretary of the Hospital Club, a member of the Pioneer Garden Club and the Arts and Craft Dept. of the Women's Club. Survivors are a son, Norman T. Bryant of Barre, Vt.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Mildred) Cannon of Dover, N. H.; Mrs. Verna Brooks of Brattleboro, Vt.; and Miss Barbara Bryant of Dover, N. H.; a sister, Miss Maude Thorndike of Belfast; a brother, George Thorndike of Searsport; two grandsons, three great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Committal services were held yesterday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with members of the Washington Rebekah Lodge attending.
