Obituary	MRS. MAUDE E. HANSON Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Mrs. Maude E. (Foss) Hanson, 75, widow of Clarence E. Hanson, who died Sunday after a short illness. The Rev. Gordon F. Parlin officiated. Interment will be in the family lot at Ripley in the spring. She was born June 25, 1889, at Harmony, the daughter of Frank and Thurza (Merriman) Foss. She attended Farmington and Castine Normal schools and had taught school for about 27 years in the Guilford and Parkman area. At one time she served as superintendent of Ripley schools and did substitute teaching in the Ripley area. She was a member of the Maine Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association, Parkman Baptist Church, Christian Civic League of Maine and the Ripley Extension group. Survivors are two sons, Levi of Dexter and Joseph of Augusta; three daughters, Mrs. Hildrith Blanche of Augusta, Mrs. Pauline Thorndike of Milford, Conn., and Mrs. Geraldine Landry of Southbridge, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Albra Chadbourne of Harmony; 23 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
