CHARLES L. BROWNE Charles L. Browne 78, of Princess Anne, Md., a former resident of Dexter died Nov. 22 at the home of his daughter in Lewisberry, Pa. He was born at Orrington, Maine March 1886, son of Charles E. and Harriet (Tucker) Browne. He spent his childhood at Dexter and attended Dexter schools. He learned the machinist trade at Fay and Scott Machine Shop. He left here in 1909 and settled in Maryland in 1930. He had been a violin teacher and at one time had an orchestra of his own. Surviving are his widow, Edna (Pusey) Browne of Princess Anne and Lewisberry Pa.; four daughters, Mrs. Florence B. Leighton and Miss Nathalie B. Brown both of Dexter, Mrs. Phyllis B. Kaley of Lewisberry, Pa., Mrs. Ruth B. Street of Newcastle, Del.; Mrs. Bertha Goulette of Dexter, a step-sister; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were held at the Friendship Methodist Church Princess Anne Md., and burial was in the church cemetery.
