J. ROBERT HAMMOND J. Robert Hommond [Hammond}, 43, a prominent cattle dealer, died suddenly Saturday at his home in Exeter after a short illness. He was born in Exeter, May 22, 1921, the son of Benjamin W. and Madeline (Crawford) Hammond. He attended schools in Exeter and served in World War II. He had operated a cattle business in Exeter. He was a member of Pacific Lodge of Masons of Exeter. He was a former member of Exeter Grange. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Whitney Jr., of Dexter; a nephew, Doug, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Farnham Funeral home at Newport with the Rev. Gerald Scott, pastor of the Newport Calavary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial and committal services were held in Evergreen Cemetery Houlton.
