Obituary	BYRON E. MITCHELL Byron Ellsworth Mitchell, 66 of Dexter died Saturday afternoon at a local hospital after having had a heart attack earlier that morning at his home where he had been ill for two weeks. He was born at Somerville, Mass., October 17, 1897, the son of Walter L. and Grace (Laws) Michell. He attended Brown University at Providence, R. I. and was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Mitchell had been employed by the Fayscott-Landis Machine Co. since Feb. 17, 1947 and for the past several years as a reprographer. He had resided at Dexter for 33 years. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of several Masonic branches. He was a member the Poulliot-Seavey Post, American Legion. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Lena Mictchell of Dexter; one son, Lt. Cmdr. Grant L. Mitchell , stationed at NorfoIk, Va., and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Parlin of the Methodist Church officiating. Bearers were Harold Hatch, Wendell Higgins, Marvin Salisbury, Allard Packard, John Kortecamp, Sr., and Keith Crouse. Interment was in the family lot at the Lang Cemetery, St. Albans.
