HARRY V. WESTGATE Funeral services were held this afternoon, Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Dexter Methodist Church for Harry V. Westgate, 52 , who died Monday at his home on Fay Court after a short illness. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. He was born at Buzzards Bay, Mass., Oct. 10, 1911, son of Guy and Edith (Huckins) Westgate. He received his education in the Dexter schools, and for the past 23 years had been employed by the Fayscott-Landis Machine Corp. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Plymouth Lodge of Odd Fellows, Silver Lake Encampment, Canton Dexter No. 8, and Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge. He had served as district deputy grand master of District 25, and had received his apprentice degree in Penobscot Masonic Lodge. Since the start of the Little League in Dexter, he had been an interested supporter and served as an umpire. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Amber (Landeen) Westgate; a daughter, Mrs. Theodore Smart of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Sawtelle, Sr., of Corinna and Mrs. Maynard Eaton of Framingham, Mass., three grandchildren; two aunts; several nieces and nephews.
