Obituary
MISS ETHEL MAE CARR Funeral services for Miss Ethel M. Carr, 83, who died last Thursday at the Plummer Memorial Hos'pital where she had been a patient for nearly two weeks, were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. The Rev. Gordon F. Parlin of the Methodist Church oficiated. Bearers were Ogden Carr, Jr., of Massachusetts; Roger Carr, Hartford, Conn., William Spencer, Robert Buxton, Lloyd H. Hatch, Sr., all of Dexter, and William Mountain of Sangerville. Interment was in the family lot at Sangerville. She was born at Sangervilile, Jan. 4, 1882, daughter of Fred H. and Susie Oakes Carr. Miss Carr was a graduate of Sangerville High School, Shaw's Business College, Portland, Me., and the School of Domestic Science and Home Management, Quincy, Mass. For several years, she was manager of Ball Skinner Coffee House at Holyoke, Mass., and was dietician and foods manager at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn., for 25 years, retiring in 1946, and has since made her home in Dexter. She was a charter member of Susie Carr Chapter O.E.S., Sangerville; a charter member of the J.T. Club of Sangerville; a member of the First Universalist Church and its Ladies' Aid of Dexter; former member of the Dexter Woman's Literary Club, and former member of Rebecca Weston Chapter, D.A.R., Dexter. She is survived by a brother, Harold (Harry) M. Carr of Keene, N.H., five nephews, Ogden M. Carr of Corinna, Theodore 0. Carr, Bangor; Malcolm F. Carr, Claremont, N. H., Douglas Carr, Woonsocket, R. I., Kenneth W. Carr, Keene, N.H., several cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
