Obituary	MRS. JOSEPHINE KATEN Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Farnham Funeral Home for Mrs. Josephine Abbie Katen, 70, the wife of Elmer Katen, who died Friday at a Pittsfield hospital after a period of ill health. She was born at Dexter, November 28, 1894, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Farrar) Morgidge. She was educated in Dexter schools and was married to Elmer Katen November 30, 1911 at Dexter. Mrs. Katen worked as a weaver at the American Woolen mill at Dover-Foxcroft and Worumbo mill at Lisbon Falls. She had also been a cook at the Lobster House in Trenton and at the time of her death was employed as a cook at the Newport High School cafeteria. She attended the People's Methodist Church and was associate matron of the Nokomis Chapter, O.E.S. of Dover-Foxcroft, a member of the Eastern Star Club of Newport and a former Grange member at Falmouth. Survivors are her husband of Newport; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Audrey Page of Dexter; two granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Amy Greuling of Needham Mass.; several cousins; one niece and four grandnieces. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
