Obituary
ABNER C. RICHARDS Abner C. Richards, 74, husband of Mildred Beede Richards, died Friday at the Plummer Hospital after a period of failing health. Born at Dexter, April 22, 1890, he was the son of Nelson and Rose (Tuttle) Richards. He had spent most of his life in Dexter except for a few years in the Manchester-Readfield section of the state. He was employed for many years in local woolen mills and was known through the state for his raising and showing at fairs of fancy poultry; which was his hobby. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Flewelling of Dexter; a son, Herbert, of Exeter; a brother, Westley Richards of Dexter, a granddaughter, two great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home with Jobie Robinson, spiritualist, from Camp Etna, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gordon Parlin of the Dexter Methodist Church. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Bearers were nephews, Clyde Richards, and Bernard Pomroy, Dexter; Richard Maynard, Newport; Otheniel Thurlow, Howland, also Norman Hatch and William Gordon, Dexter.
