Obituary
WENDELL B. CHAMPEON Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, July 9, at Postland for Wendell B. Champeon, 35, of Cape Elizabeth, formerly of Dexter, who died suddenly Monday morning at a Portland hospital. The Rev. Robert Bell officiated, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth. He was born at Dexter, April 18, 1929, the son of Mrs. Helen Champeon Degerstrom and the late Andrew Champeon. He attended Dexter schools and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Later, he was graduated from Maine Vocational Technical Institute at South Portland. For the past 10 years he has been employed by the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company as a toll testman. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Barbara (Linton) Champeon of Cape Elizabeth; two daughters, Mary Anne and Diane Champeon, both of Cape Elizabeth; his mother, Mrs. Helen Degerstrom of Dexter; a brother, Rodney D. Champeon, Dexter; a sister, Mrs. Donna Fauley, Charleston, S. C., an uncle, Donald D. Champeon; aunts, the Misses Elizabeth and Hazel Champeon, all of Dexter; nephews and nieces.
