John E. Ronco Dies-Dexter's Oldest Man John E. Ronco, 98, Dexter's oldest man, died Wednesday evening April 15 at his home on Winter street after a period of failing health. There will be a funeral mass at St. Anne's Catholic Church Saturday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Gaston Auger officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Mr. Ronco was born at Hallowell March 3, 1866, son of Augustus and Flora (Jennis) Ronco. He has made his home at Dexter the greater part of his life, and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Prior to his retirement in 1946, he was employed many years in the spinning room of the former Dumbarton Mill and at the Amos Abbott Company. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eliza (Groleau) Ronco; five daughters, Mrs. Eva Clukey of Dexter, Mrs. Gertrude Levesque, Lewiston, Mrs. Celina Richardson, Mrs. Thelma Prescott, both of Dexter and Mrs. Evelyn Vigue, Groton, Conn., three sons, Albert of Wells, Arthur and Frederick, both of Dexter; two brothers Augustus of Guilford and Walter of Dexter; a sister, Mrs. Susie Bailey of Dover-Foxcroft; 29 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. note: photo accompanies article
