Obituary	JOHN L. COUGHLIN Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 31, at the Smart Funeral Home at Skowhegan for John L. Coughlin, 57, who died Saturday morning at his Skowhegan home after a period of failing health. The Rev. Lucien Chabot of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church officiated. He was born at Dexter, July 26, 1905, son of the late William J. and Catherine (Sullivan) Coughlin. He was graduated from Dexter High School, and in 1941 married Catherine Hanson of Dexter. Prior to retiring in 1959, he owned and operated the Riverside Market at Norridgewock for 17 years. He was a veteran of World War 2. Survivors besides his widow are two daughters, Brenda and Barbara of Skowhegan; two sons, Robert of Arlington, Va., and Richard of Bensonville, Ill., a sister, Miss Mary E. Coughlin of Silver Spring, Md., three brothers, C. E. Coughlin of Hollywood, Calif., Francis of Biddeford and Frederick of Silver Spring, Md., nieces and nephews.
