Obituary	MRS. LAURA A. GILMAN Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, at the Edwards Funeral Home at Wilton for Mrs. Laura A. Gilman, 88, who died unexpectedly Friday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Connelly, of Dexter with whom she spent her winters The Rev. Russell M. Chase, minister of the Wilton Methodist Church officiated. Bearers were grandsons, Robert E. Fales of Hampton, Conn., Harold L. Adams, Jr., Charles Adams, both of Wilton, Charles L. Fales, Jr., Exeter, N. H., William E. Shardlow, Jr., Farmington, John F. Shardlow, , East Wilton and Fred Eaton of Millinocket. Interment was in the Strong cemetery. She was born Jan. 14, 1874, at New Portland, daughter of Charles and Betsy Tufts Whitten. Her husband, Charles A. Gilman died in 1921 They lived at Strong for several years, moving to Wilton in 1904. She was a member of the Wilton Methodist Church, the Three Quarter Century Club, and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. While in Dexter, she frequently attended the U. F. Club. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Hester Adams of Wilton, Mrs. Marion Shardlow, East Wilton, Mrs. Ethel FaIes, Fairfield, Mrs. Ruth Ledger and Mrs. Brenda Connelly, both of Dexter; 15 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Relatives attending the service from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Cnnelly, Mr. and Mrs. Ledger, all of Dexter; Mrs. Bernice Sterling, Dover-Foxcroft; and Charles Whitten of Augusta.
